ABOUT RunWild CanadaAdvocacy, education, philanthropy, fitness and fun combined!
Kids Moving! Kids Learning! Kids for Kids!
The What: RunWild Canada is a free, curriculum-based school program that raises awareness and funds for local Child and Youth Advocacy Centres (or CYACs) through movement and learning.
The How: Sign up your classroom or school to participate in RunWild Canada and learn from the free online resources. Choose your own run date and make it your own! Bring in loonies and toonies to support your local CYAC.
The Why: CYACs are our community's response to child abuse. There are over 40 CYACs across Canada where professionals come together to support a child and their family when child abuse happens. Child abuse can be neglect, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and online exploitation. A CYAC is the place Where Kids Can Tell and where the path to healing and justice begins.
The History: RunWild started as an in-person racing event in St. Albert, Alberta and has raised over $1,200,000. Every year, over 7000 students hear the messaging of fun, fitness and philanthropy from our volunteers. The program has now developed into a free school-based experiential learning program that is free, easy, and customizable for any school.
